Poem: Pure Petrarchian love sonnet in honour of Rebecca Romijn (728)
Rhyme structure: ABBA, ABBA, CDC and CDC, according to Wyatt's structure fixed in the Sixteenth century.
Lines used: decasyllables, according to Surrey's structure fixed in the Sixteenth century.
Vertical acrostic: Ivory Rebecca
Title: Oh, ivory Rebecca
OH, IVORY REBECCA (728)
1. Oh, ivory Rebecca, you own my sweet heart,
2. Honey, I love you with all my human might,
3. I would certainly swoon at your fine sight,
4. Venus, my love is carved on gold, not on chart.
5. Of your brave knight I am playing the part,
6. Resplendent pearl, you are a subtle delight,
7. Young Daphne, for your platonic love I will fight,
8. Radiant spouse, in heaven our wedlock will start.
9. Even though now I am meaningless to you,
10. Bright jade, I could be useful tomorrow,
11. Elect soul, I am cutting my veins for you.
12. Candid swan, my sacrifice will save you,
13. Chaste angel, your immaculate heart I borrow,
14. Angel, I am giving eternal life to you.
Yours faithfully and eternally
