02-18-1999: The Oprah Winfrey Show
Our visit to the Bahamas is turning out to be just like a real vacation. We're having a lot of fun. Things occasionally get a little wacky. There are attractive strangers everywhere... and a frisky kind of feeling in the air. Oprah didn't fight that feeling on Thursday
[02-18-1999, RRF], when she welcomed Rebecca Romijn - Sports Illustrated's 1999 swimsuit edition cover model - to the show and hosted her own version of The Dating Game. The water's fine, so let's jump right in!
We last saw Rebecca Romijn during our Fantasy Wedding show. [02-04-1999, RRF] Now, everyone is seeing her on the 58 million copies of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Rebecca says being selected as the cover model is "like the Oscars of modeling" and that the decision is made based on that rare moment with every element of the photo is "right." In addition to a summer's worth of stunning swimwear, Rebecca also appears in SI surrounded by fresh fruit and fish, and adorned in body paint. (How one swims in those is beyond me.) Rebecca says the body paint shoot took 15 hours to prepare for. Did she feel self-conscious wearing nothing but a coat of paint? "Yeah, a little bit," she admitted.
