1999 (05-25): Tommy Hilfiger All-American Nationwide Search
The Tommy Hilfiger All-American Girl Nationwide Search team arrives in Los Angeles in search of the Next Tommy Hilfiger All-American Girl. The Search, which celebrates the designer's long awaited collection for girls sizes 4-16, is looking for girls, ages 6-12, that best personify the all-American spirit and energy for which the designer is known. The Search is open to all girls between the ages of 6-12 (as of April 1, 1999). All contestants will be asked to walk down a runway, have their photo taken and provide a statement on what they like best about America. In addition, the Tommy Hilfiger Beverly Hills Flagship Store will host a private shopping night for all contestants, offering that evening 15% discount off the entire store. Tommy Hilfiger will choose the 51 finalists along with Rebecca Romjin, Tommy Hilfiger's Women's Sportswear model, and recording artist Britney Spears, who appears in the Tommy Jeans Spring advertising campaign. Each of the winners will receive a three-thousand dollar U.S. Savings Bond to be used for their college education, a weekend trip to New York City (with parents or guardians) with the opportunity to model in the Tommy Hilfiger All-American Girl Fashion Show, and a $250.00 wardrobe of the new Girls collection line.
