2000 (01-10): Party for the Issue of Movieline
Rebecca Romijn won't stand for anyone dissing her man.
The supermodel/actress agreed to take part in a cover story for Movieline's new "Sex" issue. But she's refusing play hostess at a party for the issue tomorrow night in L.A. because writer Stephen Rebello took a swipe at her hubby, John Stamos.
Rebello's story gushes over Romijn, due to break out in the movie "X-Men." But he asks how she ended up marrying Stamos, "who's been flying relatively low on fame's radar screen."
"How did this superdish, who could easily marry her way into useful, powerful echelons of Hollywood," end up marrying the guy who played Blackie Parrish on "General Hospital" for two years and Uncle Jesse on the now-defunct TV sitcom "Full House"? Rebello asks.
Even though invites listing Romijn as the host were sent out weeks ago, her reps told the magazine on Wednesday not to expect her.
"There's really nothing bad in the piece," magazine president-CEO John Evans told us. "We're sorry she feels this way."
Romijn's rep insists she's not going to the party because of a scheduling conflict. Stars still expected at the bash at Cyrano's include James Woods, Roseanne Barr, Jacqueline Bisset, Lauren Holly, Sela Ward, Gary Oldman, Michael Bay, Scott Caan, Gary Oldman and upcoming Movieline covergirl Leelee Sobieski.
