2000 (02-06): 4th Cosmo's Fun Fearless Female Awards luncheon
Wholesome "Party of Five" and "Time of Your Life" star Jennifer Love Hewitt has been named Fun, Fearless Female of the Year by Cosmopolitan magazine. She celebrated at New York's Plaza Hotel on Sunday (02-06-2000, RRF) with a party along with 11 other honorees, including soul diva Mary J. Blige, model Elizabeth Hurley, The View star Lisa Ling and actresses Heather Donahue, Rebecca Romijn and Hayley Mills.
Rebecca's Award Speech:
Every time I move my pants on snap. I don't know why I just told you that. I don't know. It is really an honor to be included in this great group of women and just to show everybody how fun and fearless we are, we all decided, we're gonna streak on Fifth Avenue after this show. You wanna get your cameras ready for that. This is really cool, I'm going go home and add this to all my other awards. The last thing I won was the Sixth Grade spelling bee, so thank you.
Rebecca Interview:
My husband and I live for fun. We were in Vegas this weekend and that was pretty fun. I won the jackpot on quarters. 2700 dollars. And we love amusement parks, we love Disney World and we're just kinda..., we're just like goofy kids, we laugh and we cavort and we, you know. We play. When I was auditioning for MTV, I didn't feel like the audition went very well and the next day I called the producer of the show from an airport and I said, listen I don't think my audition went very well yesterday, but I think you should hire me anyway, cause I think I could be very good at this and she hired me, and I, I was, like in retrospect, I look at that and thought, that was pretty damn crazy that I do that and I didn't put much thought in it before I did it because I knew I back out if I..., you know, thought about it. You know, don't take yourself too seriously, don't be afraid to laugh at yourself and look like a goof. Embrace your goofyness within.
