2003 (02-06): IPPF/WHR's Ambassadors for the Americas
IPPF/WHR’s Ambassadors for the Americas is a new program that mobilizes celebrities in support of advancing reproductive health and rights in Latin America and the Caribbean. The new advocacy program was launched on February 6, 2003, at a cocktail reception and presentation in Los Angeles attended by more than 125 supporters of our organization and by six celebrity ambassadors: Hector Elizondo, Elliott Gould, Joanna Kerns, Alexander Sanger, Rebecca Romijn, and Cheryl Tiegs. L.A. television host Martha Velez of Generation Tu! hosted the reception and introduced the ambassadors and the evening’s speakers.
