The bands played on even after the American Music Awards Wednesday, with parties at the St. Regis Hotel Presidential Penthouse and Deep, among others.
The Deep bash in Hollywood doubled as a congratulatory affair for Universal Music Group's golden boy Nelly, marking his acting debut in ``Snipes,'' which bowed at the Toronto Film Festival last year and is set for release soon.
A Nelly TV Cam was set up for attendees to congratulate the rapper on camera.
Commenting on the events of the evening, Nelly told Daily Variety, 'I am just taking it all in. I had nothing to do with putting the party together. (Universal) told me to invite a bunch of my friends, and that is what I did.'
Clive Davis helped celebrate the wins of his J Records artists Alicia Keys and Luther Vandross at the St. Regis with Carlos Santana, Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow, 'N Sync, India.Arie, Snoop Dogg, Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds, Method Man, Redman, Usher and Mandy Moore.
Those watching the kudocast on big flat-screen TVs with state-of-the-art sound included Barbara Davis, Samuel L. Jackson, Holly Robinson Peete, Joan Collins, Jennifer Love Hewitt and John Stamos with Rebecca Romijn.
