The beautiful people took to the stage this afternoon (09-14-2002, RRF) for the final press conference of the Toronto International Film Festival. Actors Antonio Banderas, Rebecca Romijn and acclaimed director Brian De Palma were all smiles as they discussed the closing gala film, Femme Fatale.

Romijn-Stamos had "big shoes to fill", when she realized that her role paid homage to some of the greatest actresses of all time. "I had to put all my trust into Brian. Everything I did, I listened to the man. The whole movie was in his head, it is entirely his vision," she said.

Femme Fatale is likely to stir controversy, with certain scenes that might be considered as objectifying women. Romijn was insistent that her character is an "amazing role" for an actress. "There are lots of these roles out there for men, but very few woman characters are allowed to be bad and to own their sexuality. I was totally in charge of everything I did," said the actress.
