When Rebecca Romijn decided to lighten up her hair recently, she wanted the color to be strong, but subtle.

“I don’t change my look much, because I’m a mom, and on a day-to-day basis I have to be as low-maintenance as possible,” she tells PEOPLE. “But heading into red carpet season, you have to figure out how to make your hair look as great as possible, as often as possible.”

Actress Rebecca Romijn has dropped the last of her pregnancy pounds and regained her pre-baby body after cutting out starch, dairy and sugar from her diet - almost three years after becoming a first-time mum.

The X-Men beauty, who is married to actor Jerry O'Connell, gave birth to twin daughters Dolly and Charlie in December, 2008, and she admits it has taken her a while to get back into shape up after becoming "lazy" with her eating habits.

The screen beauties arrived at the Brentwood, California, home of Hollywood producer Jennifer Klein for the get-together.

There, they indulged in manicures, eyebrow shaping and eyelash tinting, and each left with a duffel bag filled with cosmetics and other goodies.
